My passion for graphic design originally started out as just a hobby. Something I dabbled with for hours on the computer in the basement of my childhood home. Whether it was creating a birthday invitation or designing and coding up a new Asian Avenue page (the OG social networking site of my generation), I did whatever it took to learn how to make things look visually appealing.
There was just something about finding the right image and font then putting them together to evoke some sort of feeling that got me really excited.
Fast forward a few and a half years, armed with an undergrad degree in marketing plus diploma for graphic design and copious amounts of coffee consumed, I have turned my hobby into a career I love and enjoy.
Currently, I’m a full-time graphic and web designer for Wishpond, where I work on a minimum of 10 client campaigns a week. Work involving the designing and building of landing pages, digital ads, and email marketing campaigns.
My side hustle includes freelance designing, assisting in the social marketing efforts of a few online brands and working on starting up my own Etsy shop.
I believe a designer’s work is never done. There’s always room for improvement and growth. I’m constantly learning and eager to develop my skills by welcoming change and challenges in order to grow. Right now, I’m in the process of learning Adobe After Effects to add to my arsenal of skill sets.
When I’m not lost in design, I like getting in my daily gym time, re-watching Friends, getting lost between the pages of a good book or going on traveling adventures with family and friends.
